Tips to be greener in the new year

Did you know that, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), 27 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions come from transportation?

Many of us adopt New Year’s resolutions like eating healthier or increasing our exercise regimen, but Walking Mountains would like to encourage you to also adopt a green resolution to help you live more sustainably in 2019.

Three Tips For What You Can Do:

Eliminate single-use plastics like plastic utensils, water bottles and straws. When shopping, look for products with minimal plastic packaging.

Become more energy efficient. Switch to LED light bulbs, unplug small electronic devices and appliances when not in use and install a programmable thermostat.
