EAST VAIL — On Rivalry Tuesday in Eagle County, Vail Christian bounced back from a tough loss to DeBeque last weekend with a 78-61 victory at the Vail Mountain School.
For some reason, the Saints and Gore Rangers did not go three overtimes.
Vail Christian’s Alec Moritz went off with 29 points, while Zack McKeever had 14 points and nine rebounds.
E.J. Koller had a big night with 12 points and eight assists, while Jamison Lee finished the evening with 14 points.
Vail Christian moved to 9-5 overall and 6-1 in the 2A Slope.
“It was a good team win,” Saints coach Sheldon Kuhns said. “Alex Hilty also had six points and it was good to get him back from an injury. I think our defense wasn’t where we wanted it, but our offense was.”
