Expedia-AARP’s travel blog Conquer Your Someday created a list of the 12 Top Places to Visit Each Month of the Year, featuring Vail as the go-to spot for the month of March.
The travel website provides a list of places to explore throughout the year — from Phoenix, Arizona, in February to Honolulu, Hawaii, in November.
The list also includes Savannah, Georgia; Laguna Beach, California; Nantucket, Massachusetts; and Golden, Colorado; among others.
Coming to Vail in March
While the blog references Vail’s “European vibes” and “fun in the snow,” March in Vail also sees the return of the Burton U.S. Open (Feb. 25-March 2), Pink Vail (March 16), St. Patrick’s Day festivities and more.
Live shows at the Vilar Performing Arts Center at Beaver Creek in March include young Nashville singer Nikki Lane (March 7); Coming to America: A musical journey inspired by the songs of Neil Diamond (March 14); and Cirque Eloize Saloon (March 27), a family-friendly acrobatic comedy. Also not to be missed at the Vilar Center in March — “American Idol” star Reuben Studdard on March 12.
Looking for something new in March? The Powabunga music festival makes its debut March 22-23 with two nights of music in Vail’s Ford Park. The lineup features performances from viral powerhouse ZHU, Grammy-winning duo Bob Moses, Boombox, Justin Jay’s Fantastic Voyage and more.
On Mondays in March on Vail Mountain, the 60 Plus Ski With Us Mountain Tour meets at 9:30 a.m. For skiers 60 years and older of intermediate or advanced skiing ability, this free all-day tour gathers at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola at Gondoly’s Pizza in Eagle’s Nest at 9:15 a.m.
