Vail trivia: Check out weekly Trivia Night at these 4 restaurants, bars

If you’re looking for a dose of community, camaraderie and competition, belly up during the week for trivia night at a Vail Valley watering hole.

Minturn residents Kevin Banker and Adrienne Templeton have often attended Trivia Night at Vail Brewing Co. in Eagle-Vail. The couple doesn’t make it every Wednesday, but both Banker and Templeton said it’s a great mid-week break.

“It’s a fun outlet that keeps your brain moving,” Banker said. “And you’re having a blast with your friends and other teams at the same time.”

Learn a little, enjoy some specials, catch up with friends and meet new people — sounds like what could be a perfect apres-ski or post-work evening.

“I love trivia whenever I stumble upon it,” said longtime valley local Corrie Crane.

Templeton said she used to attend trivia in Fort Collins when she lived there, and that whether on the Front Range or in the mountains, it’s always been a perfect “mid-week release.”

“You have a time limit on each of your rounds, so whatever stuff you have going on in your life you can pretty much hang that at the door and it can be your own little escape,” she said. “It’s not going home and dealing with lists or chores — you’re here and you’ve got to focus.”

Trivia is often up to teams of around six, depending on the host’s rules, and solo players can enter as well if they’ve got the brains for it. If you want to play and you don’t have a team, come anyway — single players can often be recruited to join an existing team.
