EDWARDS — Larkburger is changing.
The restaurant, which opened its first location in Edwards in 2006, recently announced the closure of six stores: Two in the Kansas City area, as well as locations in downtown Denver, in Denver’s Washington Park and University Hills areas and in Broomfield.
According to a statement on the company’s website, the stores that were closed were “underperforming and financially holding us back from fully pursuing our evolution from Larkburger to Lark Spot.”
That evolution is coming to the remaining Larkburger locations, including the original restaurant in Edwards.
According to the company’s statement, the re-branded Lark Spot restaurants will be “a gathering place for friends and families…”
The re-branding will include DIY classes, movie nights and other events. The menu is also evolving, although you’ll still be able to get a Larkburger and truffle fries.

According to an email from Robin Zimmerman of Sprocket Communications, which works with Larkburger, the new menu items will include sourdough sandwiches, shared plates and a veggie sandwich.
While the re-branded Lark Spots will have similar themes, Zimmerman wrote that each restaurant will be tailored to the space and location of each store.
The re-branding is expected to take place over the next six to nine months.
