Velma Patricia Russo passed peacefully, family around her, April 28, 2019.
Born Velma Davis in Rochester NY, she married and raised her family; semi-retired to Phoenix; then chose Glenwood Springs, close to daughter Michele and Chris Wurtsmith, granddaughters Natalie and Alex Terrell (now Phoenix), Jessica Wurtsmith, great-grandson Oliver Thompson. Also survived by son Ralph and Mellody Russo (RochesterNY), granddaughters Miranda Russo (Baltimore), Madeline Russo (Boston), daughter Mareva Russo and Brad Twoomey (TrinidadCA) and brother Frank and Reva Davis (West BloomfieldNY). Predeceased by husband Patrick Russo.
Velma gave love to family and friends, through her intellect and art. Great listener, assertive when needed, she’d attract people into her community. Her art blossomed continuously and we’ll remember her enjoying a picnic and her delicious cooking. Her understanding of people and appreciation of nature guides us always.
We thank her neighbors and Glenwood community for friendship and support, making these last years a joy.
