The Associated Press is reporting that Eagle-Vail’s Mikaela Shiffrin is going “off the grid” after her super-G win at the world championships in Are, Sweden.
Austrian media reported she left Are by helicopter for training in Norway.
“She’s going off the grid for a bit, wants to keep it private,” the U.S. Ski Team told the AP on Wednesday.
Shiffrin has over a week before her next races, a giant slalom and slalom on Feb. 14 and 16. She is expected to return to Sweden on Monday for the rest of the world championships.
“The slalom and GS are her main goals and targets,” U.S. head coach Paul Kristofic told the AP.
