The 9Health Fair celebrates 40 years of providing Coloradans access to important preventive health screenings and education. The 9Health Fair returns to Summit County on April 6, 2019, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge, located at 107 Denison Placer Road.
Each health fair offers affordable lab screenings, and many locations offer additional health screenings at no cost such as hearing, vision, body mass index and more. This year, 9Health will offer two new screenings — high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (heart health) and blood type along with its standard offerings.
Health care professionals are on-hand to offer assistance and advice to participants to decide which health screenings are appropriate for them. Included at each location are tests for blood chemistry ($35), hemoglobic A1C diabetes screening ($35), vitamin D ($50) and vitamin B12 ($25) level testing, PSA screening ($35) and a colon cancer screening kit ($25) along with other tests and services.
Based on the most current research findings, the 9Health Fair Medical Advisory Committee has determined that fasting is not required for blood screenings. To best prepare for a blood draw, drink plenty of water and continue to take prescription medications. People with diabetes should not fast. Check with your health care provider for specific recommendations.
