The Office for Victims Programs in the Division of Criminal Justice announced a new $2 million grant program on Thursday meant to help Colorado nonprofits access legal resources related to crime victimization.
The new Colorado Civil Justice Corp Grand Program is an initiative that grew out of the Civil Legal Services for Crime Victims Special Project. The program will work in partnership with the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and will administer $2 million in federal Victims of Crime Act Program funds to place recent Sturm graduates with host organizations a for two-year fellowship term to work on an identified and specific civil legal issue related to crime victimization.
Applications for interested nonprofit organizations are currently being accepted. The fellowship program is designed to increase the delivery of civil legal services to victims of crimes in Colorado.
