Friends of the Dillon Ranger District to host Ski Ranger tours in Summit County starting Dec. 28

FDRD is partnering with Vail Resorts, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain Resort to provide free, on-hill cultural and natural history ski tours starting Dec. 28 and running through the end of March. Trained Ski Rangers will lead participants down a beginner/intermediate run, stopping periodically to discuss topics from local flora and fauna to geography and history. These one-hour tours require participants to have a valid lift ticket, intermediate skiing or riding ability and a desire to learn. No pre-registration required. Bring family and friends to learn while you turn on these free, unique mountain tours.

The tours will be taking place at Breckenridge Resort every Friday from 11 a.m. to noon, with meetup at the top of the Independence Chair on Peak 7; at Keystone Resort every Friday from 11 a.m. to noon, with meetup at the Keytop Overlook Deck; Copper Mountain Resort every Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon, with meetup at the top of the Timberline Express Lift. Tours will begin at from January 18 onward every Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., with meetup at the Mountain Goat Plaza.
