Mayor Gary Wilkinson and the rest of the Frisco Town Council signed a letter in support of new recycling and sustainability recommendations for the state at the regular council meeting on Tuesday evening.
The letter, drafted by Recycle Colorado and Eco-Cycle, is based on recommendations designed by the Colorado Public Interest Research Group and will be sent to Governor Jared Polis in hopes of spurring changes to the state’s recycling policies.
The letter lists four primary recommendations, including the appointment of a statewide recycling coordinator, a new recycling market development initiative to attract recycling businesses, creating a waste diversion funding task force, and expanding recycling and sustainability goals at state agencies.
