On Friday, Gov. Polis will visit Eagle County to speak with Vail Health and community members about improving behavioral health in the area.
Last week, Vail Health announced a $60 million funding commitment over the next 10 years to transform behavioral health services in the Eagle River Valley. In partnership with Eagle County community groups, the new nonprofit collaborative seeks to help build needed facilities, improve access to providers and lower barriers to accessing behavioral health care across the valley. Gov. Polis also announced the creation of a behavioral health task force in Colorado last week.
Gov. Polis will sit down to speak with community members, health care providers and press about behavioral health in the Vail area and Colorado. The event will involve a presentation, a moderated discussion and a Q&A session. All members of the public are welcome.
The event will take place at 9 a.m. at the Battle Mountain High School auditorium in Edwards at 151 Miller Ranch Road.
