HC3 to host 7th annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Saturday, Jan. 12

The High Country Conservation Center and Continental Divide Land Trust will host the 7th annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival this Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge.

This year’s lineup includes 12 environmentally-focused short films including Canis Lupus Colorado, the chronicle of the past, present, and future of Colorado’s now extinct native wolf population; Chasing Wild: Journey Into the Sacred Headwaters, the story of three friends’ 400 kilometer bike packing and packraft expedition in the wake of the devastating Mount Polley Mine disaster in northwestern British Columbia; and A River’s Reckoning, the account of a 5th generation rancher battling drought in the headwaters of the Colorado River.

Advance tickets can be purchased for $20 at HighCountryConservation.org or by calling 970-668-5703. Tickets will also be available at the Riverwalk Center at 150 W. Adams Ave. for $25 on the day of the event. Starting at 6 p.m., film-goers can visit the cash bar for a beverage, stock up on movie snacks, and enter for a chance to win door prizes from Epic Promise, Fishpond, REI, New Belgium, Bella Pella Salon, The Raven at Three Peaks, Faction Skis, Christy Sports, and AMR Ski & Board. All proceeds benefit HC3 and CDLT.
