Keystone Science School will partner with Summit School District to conduct Summer CATCH Camp, a summer camp for District student entering first through sixth grade. Now in its sixth year, the program directly meets the summer academic needs of the Summit School District through the offering of academic activities, summer reading, social-emotional learning and other enriching programming. For summer 2018, the program will expand and offer three-week sessions to every Summit School District student.
Summer CATCH Camp is an extension of the After School CATCH program and is offered to all students on a sliding fee scale. A subsidized rate strives to ensure that all local children can have a fun and educational camp experience throughout the entire summer.
“Summit School District is so appreciative of the partnership with KSS in support of the Summer CATCH Camp for our students,” said Kerry Buhler, Summit School District Superintendent. “Many of our students do not have summer opportunities and this program gives them the camp experience filled with experiential learning, social and emotional support and lots of fun!”
Registration for the program opens on March 12 for all students currently enrolled in the After School CATCH program, with registration open to all other Summit School District students on April 2. Students can register on the Keystone Science School website, as well as at the Summit County Youth Activities Fair on March 19 at Upper Blue Elementary and March 20 at Dillon Valley from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Camp will take place at Silverthorne Elementary School, with three sessions from June 10 to June 28, July 8 to July 26 and July 29 to Aug. 16.
