Letter to the editor: Morgan Liddick sticks to White House talking points

Morgan Liddick has no respect for your intelligence.

His latest column of bad writing continues this. He first starts off going back to our founders but does it in an incomplete and biased way to prove his points and show he is knowledgeable. Better research into what was going on when the Constitution was being drafted can be found by Ezra Klein of Vox or Gene Haley of Cato.

But apart from what the four words “high crimes and
misdemeanors” meant in the 1780s, Liddick follows the White House talking
points and rails at the secrecy of the proceedings. What he hides from you
because he does not respect you is that the procedures being followed were laid
down by congress under former Speaker of the House John Boehner, a Republican.
If the procedures were good enough for the Republicans when they were going
after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the bogus Benghazi
investigation, why are they not good enough now when the Democrats use their
own rules? I get tired of Republican “heads I win, tails you loose” mentality.
