Following winter weather conditions throughout the week, a number of passenger and commercial vehicle laws have gone into effect in areas around the mountain corridor.
Passenger vehicle traction laws are currently in effect along Interstate 70 from Silverthorne to Bakerville, and between Copper Mountain and Vail. Individuals taking to the roads are required to have snow or mud/snow tires, have a four-wheel-drive vehicle or use chains or other alternative traction devices.
Additionally, commercial vehicle chain laws are currently in effect on southbound CO-9 at Hoosier Pass. The Colorado Department of Transportation has also closed Highway 6 at Loveland Pass due to avalanche mitigation efforts.
