Silverthorne will be awarding nearly $100,000 in cash and in-kind services to local nonprofit organizations this year through its annual grant process.
According to the town, elected officials have selected 44 nonprofits that will receive $39,000 in cash awards and $40,000 in in-kind use of town facilities. The in-kind donations include use of the Silverthorne Pavilion, Recreation Center and town parks, and town leaders are more than happy to do it.
“We are all really fortunate to live in a community that gives so much to its residents,” said Mayor Ann-Marie Sandquist. “It’s a great feeling for Silverthorne to be able to help these amazing nonprofit organizations carry on the important work that they do for all of us every day.”
The town participates in a collaborative grant process with other local governments within the county every year to create a more streamlined process for nonprofits. Amounts are determined by town council based on the potential benefits to Silverthorne residents and the nonprofits’ past performances.
Silverthorne also awards approximately $15,000 annually in college scholarships for high school seniors.
Grant request applications are due in early August. For more information, email Kim Jardim at kjardim@silverthorne.org.
