Silverthorne’s Unity Snowboards featured at History Colorado Center exhibit

A snowboard company founded and based in Silverthorne is currently being celebrated at the History Colorado Center in Denver.

Unity Snowboards of Silverthorne is one of seven snowboarding companies that is filling the atrium at the History Colorado Center in Denver with 34 Colorado-themed snowboards.

“Some designs have become classics,” the center says on the pop-up exhibit’s website page, “while others are custom-made just for The Art of the Board, including ones made using photos from our collection! Boarders and nonboarders alike will find inspiration in this look at the artistic side of snowboard design.”

The exhibit, which went live in mid-November, will remain up through the end of March.

To pair with the pop-up exhibit, the center is also featuring a “half-pipe photo op” via its new, interactive “cyc wall,” by artist Chris Carlson. Short for “cyclorama,” the wall forms a curved background that suggests unlimited space. The interactive feature provides for visitors to have their photo taken before marveling at the 3D effect.

The exhibit is open during the center’s regular hours and is free with museum admission. For more information, visit HistoryColorado.org/History-Colorado-Center.
