Groups around Summit County are joining together to help raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Krista Burdick, executive director of the TreeTop Child Advocacy Center, was at the Dillon Town Council meeting on Tuesday evening to get the council on board with the center’s new social media campaign. Members of the council held blue pinwheels, a national symbol for the whimsical and carefree childhoods wanted for all children.
Dillon joined a number of other towns and organizations a part of the campaign so far, including Silverthorne, Blue River, Summit Advocates for Victims of Assault, Summit Fire & EMS, the Summit County Public Health Department, the Summit County Department of Health and Human Services, and more. Visit TreeTop’s Facebook page to view photos and to learn more about the campaign.
