SKI CARNIVAL WILL BE BEST EVER STAGED
World renowned ski jumpers are looking to the Dillon ski carnival to be held on Sunday, February 29 at the crowning event of the season. Seven professionals who will be here for the occasion expect world records to be broken on the Summit County Wintersports Club course, since they rank it now as the best in the world, a reputation it has held since Andrew Hougen made his great jump on it last winter.
BRECKENRIDGE 20-PIECE BAND IS ORGANIZED
Breckenridge is to have a brass band of 20 or more pieces.
This week, a organization was completed, resulting from the activities of Charles E. Godfrey, Carl Berghoffer, G.R. Chapman and E.B. Criswell, consisting of 20 experienced and starting musicians who will begin training for this purpose at an early date.
WORK ON NEW SCHOOLHOUSE IS UNDER WAY
The hauling of lumber to the site of the new school auditorium and gymnasium was begun this week, and it is planned to begin excavation as soon as weather conditions permit, an early start being predicted.
GOOD SPECIMENS FROM BROOKE-SNIDER
On Shock Hill George W. Magan is continuing to take out steady shipments of silver ore from the Brooke-Snider group. Some fine specimens of ore have been on exhibition around town this week from the lease.
RAMSEY DEVELOPS SWAN VALLEY MINE
Arthur Ramsey is spending the winter months dredging his mine claims in the Swan valley. During the summer months Mr. Ramsey forms an important part of the Tonopah dredge crew and when the dredge ceases to operate he takes up the work on his seven claims.
