Winter weather brings traction and chain laws to Summit County

The Colorado Department of Transportation is warning drivers not to take the winter weather conditions on the road lightly following an overnight snowstorm and showers expected to continue throughout the afternoon.

Loveland Pass between the Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and the Loveland Ski Area has already been closed due to adverse conditions on the roadway. Additionally, passenger vehicle traction laws are in effect on Interstate 70 between Silverthorne and Georgetown, and between Copper Mountain and Vail.

Commercial vehicle chain laws are currently in effect along Fremont Pass on CO-91, between Copper Mountain and Leadville, and between Blue River and Alma.
