Brendon Urie On New Music: “I Don’t Think It Will Be Too Long Before Another Panic! Record”

Brendon talked about writing new songs during an interview at the BBMAs in Las Vegas.

Panic! At The Disco‘s Brendon Urie has revealed he has begun working on new music for the band.

Speaking backstage at last night’s (May 01) Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, Brendon revealed that while it is still in its early stages, he has spent some of his time off writing new material:

“I thought I would take a little more time off and I’m already starting music. Not with anything planned in mind, but just working on some ideas. I can’t help myself so I don’t think it’ll be too long before another Panic! record.”

When quizzed by the interviewer about what stage the new songs are at, Urie said “Some are two minute long just instrumentals, some are thirty second voice memos – jibberish. Some are inside jokes written on napkins at bars. There’s all kinds of different stuff.”

So, early days but, yes, new Panic! music is on the horizon!

Panic! took home two awards at the BBMAs, Top Rock Song for ‘High Hopes’ and Top Rock Album for ‘Pray For The Wicked’. Brendon performed twice during the show, giving a live rendition of ‘Hey Look Ma, I Made It’ and opening the show with ‘Me!’, his track with Taylor Swift.
