Brendon Urie’s First Time In A Studio Was Recording Backing Vocals For ‘From Under The Cork Tree’

How crazy is that?!?

Ok first off, how has it been 15 years since Fall Out Boy released ‘From Under The Cork Tree’?!? Time flies way too fast.

Anyway, if you didn’t already know Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco fame makes an appearance on the record, providing backing vocals of ‘7 Minutes In Heaven’.

Well in our recent chat with Pete Wentz, it became apparent that was Brendon’s first time EVER in a studio. That’s right, those backing vocals are the first professionally recorded vocals of a phenomenon.

Let Pete explain…

“He had done Panic! demos but he had never been in a real studio. Oh man, it was crazy. It was all so new. Patrick [Stump] and Neil Avron were both kind of producing him and goofing around with him. He had a really raw electric talent. He would be screwing around and sing something and you would be like ‘Wow, was that the idea? Because thats even better than the idea we thought we had’.

It was a weird thing watching someone who was so naturally good at what they do that they don’t actually know it and the world doesn’t know it. Seeing it all before it happened was so odd at the time.”

And the rest, as they say, is history.
