Grandson Has Covered ‘Maria’ By Rage Against The Machine As A Commentary On The American Dream

Grandson recorded his Rage Against The Machine cover exclusively for Rock Sound.

As part of Rock Sound’s 250th issue celebrations Grandson recorded a cover of the Rage Against The Machine classic ‘Maria’. It’s part of our ‘Worship And Tributes: Volume II’ covers album, which you can pick up from SHOP.ROCKSOUND.TV

Grandson has made no secret of the fact that Rage Against The Machine (and ost especially Tom Morello) are among his biggest inspirations – so paying tribute with a cover only makes sense.

Speaking of his cover, Grandson shared “The intention was to juxtapose a story of Mexican migration/indentured servitude with Delta Deep South American blues as a commentary on slave labor and the perversion of the American Dream. What’s more American than that?

But that’s not all! There’s 13 incredible covers by 13 incredible bands on ‘Worship And Tributes: Volume II’! We’re talking As It Is covering Bring Me The HorizonWSTR paying tribute to The All American Rejects. And if you order our 250th issue from SHOP.ROCKSOUND.TV, you’ll get a FREE copy ‘Worship And Tributes: Volume II’! It’s available right now, worldwide!
