Black your eyes, it’s gone GOLD.

Hawthorne Heights‘ emo anthem ‘Ohio Is For Lovers’ has been officially certified Gold in the US, 15 years after its original release.
For context, a Gold single in the US is equivalent to 500,000 sales – so with half a million sales of ‘Ohio Is For Lovers’, it’s safe to say we’re all blacking our eyes lately.
‘Ohio Is For Lovers’ was the debut single off Hawthorne Heights’ debut album ‘The Silence in Black and White’, and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart. We were emo back then, but let’s be honest – the reason it’s just been certified Gold is because we’re very much still emo now.
Seems like a good excuse to turn this up, and reminisce:
Congratulations to Hawthorne Heights!
