Nearly 11 years after it was originally released, Marilyn Manson‘s cover for ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas: Revisited’ has been certified Gold in the US.
Back in 2008 a handful of alternative artists including Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy and Marilyn Manson recorded covers from The Nightmare Before Christmas movie soundtrack, which were released as an album in its own right. One of those covers is Marilyn Manson’s version of the classic ‘This Is Halloween’.
To be certified Gold in the US, that means that Marilyn Manson has sold over 500,000 units of ‘This Is Halloween’ – a monumental effort!
It truly is a staple of Halloween, so who knows what’s inspired a spike in listening in the middle of the year.
