Mark Hoppus Is Auctioning Off Classic Blink-182 Gear For Charity

Grab a bit of history and do some good.

Mark Hoppus is auctioning off some classic pieces of Blink-182 gear, and it’s all for an important cause.

First up is his Fender Custom Pink Plaid “Groundskeeper Willie” Precision Bass, which has a very special place in Blink history.

“We call this plaid bass Groundskeeper Willie,” he explained.

“I wrote a great deal of the bass riffs for the [2003] untitled album on this bass. It has the sticker of the unicorn on there and the pink Famous Stars and Straps keychain that has been on here for the past decade and a half.”

I’m auctioning it off to raise money for the Trevor Project, which is a great organization doing great work.”

Proceeds from the auction will be going to The Trevor Project, the leading organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people. Mark will also donate an extra $5,000 to the charity himself.

Check out the auction here, and find out more about The Trevor Project here.

He’s also set to auction off a whole range of over items via Reverb going forward – from basses to mics and amps – as he explains in this video.

Blink just released a new single, ‘Happy Days’, which you can hear just below.
