Brilliant.
See, the thing about being in a band like Real Friends is that you spend a lot of time out on the road, and passing through a whole lot of towns and cities.
And what better way to pass the time than to review everywhere you stop for food, coffee or recreation activities?
Enter: Yelp.
For the uninitiated, Yelp is a review site which collates reviews for just about everywhere. If you want to know where the best coffee shop is in town? You head to Yelp. Want to know what people think of Disneyland? Yelp.
Now, they haven’t reviewed anything this year – but we’re hopeful it’ll be revived.
Take for example their review of Indiana’s Wahooz Family Fun Zone Amusement Park, where Real Friends share “This place has to be in the top 10 for best fun centers in the whole country. Is there an official list? Do I have to now visit every fun center in America to determine which is the most fun? I’ll do it if I have to. I’m not afraid of having fun. I can tell you right here, right now though that I haven’t had as fun of a day at any other fun center than I did at Wahooz.”
Or even their review of Cologne Cathedral in Germany “Wow, this place looks exactly like I imagined it would after seeing it in Lord of the Rings. My pal Harold actually worked on the set of that movie and we asked if that would get us a discount, but the owners insisted this isn’t the same place. Was looking forward to getting an autographed photo of Frodo except I didn’t have enough money. I settled for a photo of some person’s hairy feet someone was selling outside. This place is great.”
Or this two-star review of an Illinois Starbucks: “No one greeted me when I walked in and the employees seemed upset with each other. Maybe an interwork romantic relationship had gone awry? Hope everything is okay… I don’t want to see another one of these :(“
Basically, they’re hilarious. And we would read Real Friends’ review of every single restaurant they ever eat at, until the end of eternity. Check out their official Yelp here.
