Very sad news.
It has been reported by the BBC that an attendee of Reading Festival has died after falling ill at the festival over the weekend.
This marks the second death of an attendee of Reading & Leeds Festival over the weekend, following the suspected drug overdose of a young woman at Leeds Festival in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The BBC report that an unidentified man was taken ill near one of the main stages at Reading Festival at roughly 11pm on Saturday evening, and was transferred to Royal Berkshire Hospital a short time later. He later passed away in the hospital on Monday.
Reading Festival’s police commander Ch Supt Rob France shared in a short statement, “We are investigating the circumstances of how he became ill and his death is being treated as unexplained at this time. We will continue to provide support to the man’s family at this difficult time.”
