The Hunna’s Ryan Potter On Possibly Working With Gerard Way & Ray Toro: “I Think It’s Gonna Happen”

“We’ll send some stuff and see what happens but I’m fairly positive that at some point we will be in a room with them” – Ryan Potter

Last week we spoke to The Hunna’s Ryan Potter about all things ‘I’d Rather Die Than Let Than Let You In’, the band’s upcoming third album.

Amongst tales of working with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, Twenty One Pilots’ Josh Dun and blink-182’s Travis Barker, he also talked about the possibility of working with My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way and Ray Toro.

Here’s what he had to say:

“There was talks and talks going round about this. MCR are probably my soundtrack to my youth. I had the calendars, the bags, I had the whole thing. I used to be in my room painting my nails, doing my eye make-up like Gerard and singing away in my bedroom.

“When I heard about that I was freaking out like ‘Oh my god’. Then it kept on going back and forth like ‘they can’t do this day and they can’t do this day’. So for the album we never got round to doing it.

“Then probably a week ago, we got another message saying that Ray really wants to write with us and work with us. Hopefully Gerard as well because he’s super busy.

“So we’re working on stuff that we can send over there. I think it’s gonna happen. I’m praying that it’s gonna happen. But we’re kind of in the beginning stages. We’ll send some stuff and see what happens but I’m fairly positive that at some point we will be in a room with them.”

So, definitely worth keeping your eye out for that in the future then!
