Tom DeLonge Has Spoken To Mark Hoppus About When It’s Right For Him To Return To Blink-182

“Yes everybody, I will play with Blink again. That’s the whole plan.” – Tom DeLonge.

Tom DeLonge has spoken about his intention to return to the Blink-182 line-up in the future – and has even begun discussing his return with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker.

Speaking at length with 91X radio station in his hometown of San Diego, Tom addressed part of the reason the fallout occurred which ultimately resulted in his departure from Blink in 2015.

“For me it’s funny, when I was starting all this stuff, and working with people in the government – I couldn’t tell those guys,” Tom shared. “So they didn’t know, and that’s one of the reasons that they got so upset I think. They were like wanting to go and record and I was just like ‘…not right now… I’m doing something…’. This was when the whole meltdown happened, like ‘Tom quit!’”.

He also shared “There’s creative differences in what I do, and what my brothers in Blink do. We like different things, and we like different music – but we’re still good friends and we still support each other.”

“And it hit the press last week I think that – yes everybody, I will play with Blink again. That’s the whole plan. I talk to Travis all the time, and I talked to Mark just the other day and we’re always discussing what makes sense and when.”

And while nothing is planned or publically in the works for a reunion of the original line-up, this does come only one day after Mark Hoppus shared that he thought that a 20th anniversary show to honour Blink’s iconic live album ‘The Mark, Tom And Travis Show’ next year is “a fantastic idea”.

In the mean time however, Tom DeLonge is busy enough with Angels & Airwaves who just dropped their first new music in over three years. Check out their new single ‘Rebel Girl’ below:
