It wasn’t just his electrifying performance that had people talking about Travis Scott at this year’s Grammy Awards: It was also his choice of footwear. The rapper, who took the stage with James Blake and members of Earth, Wind and Fire for a medley of “Stop Trying to Be God” and “No Bystanders,” off his Grammy-nominated album, Astroworld, debuted a pair of previously-unseen Jordan 1 sneakers, that had the internet buzzing.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted Scott performing in a fresh pair of black and olive kicks, which appear to be an updated version of the classic Air Jordan 1 Low silhouette (see similar models here). Not content to show and not tell, Scott also surprise-released a new pair of shoes on Nike’s SNKRS website during his Grammy’s performance. Part of an ongoing partnership with Nike, the Travis Scott x Jordan 1 “Cactus Jack” sneakers immediately sold out and even caused Nike’s site to go down for a few minutes due to overwhelming traffic and demand.

The new Jordan 1 high-tops feature a reverse swoosh design set on off-white leather, with brown nubuck trim. Design details include a hidden stash pocket at the ankle, a gradient sole, and the “Cactus Jack” logo embossed onto the side of each shoe. (“Cactus Jack” is the name of Scott’s record label, which the artist launched in 2016).
If you didn’t get your hands on the new kicks, they’re already being listed on re-sale sites like Flight Club, though they’re going for over $2,700. Nike’s website also has similar styles for both men and women starting at $100 (shop here).
You’ll also have another chance to score the shoes this spring: a wider release of the Jordan 1 “Cactus Jack” sneakers is reportedly set to take place in April. Retail price for the shoe is $175. As for the pair that Scott sported on stage, Nike hasn’t said whether this will be an official sneaker release or if it was just a one-off designed for Scott’s performance.
Worth noting: Scott paired the sneakers he wore on stage with a vintage Rush band tee presumably borrowed from girlfriend Kylie Jenner’s closet (the makeup designer posted a photo of herself on Instagram wearing the retro tee last week). The T-shirt has spawned an increase of searches on eBay for similar Rush concert shirts (browse them here), with hundreds of versions still available as of this writing.
