Last week Pierce The Veil frontman Vic Fuentes teased that he had a big, life-changing announcement incoming. Now we know what that is!
Vic has been announced as the new co-chairman and CEO of the Living The Dream Foundation – a non-profit organisation which makes dreams come true for young adults and teenagers suffering terminal and life-threatening illness.
The announcement isn’t all together super surprising – Vic has served as an ambassador for the organisation since 2016, after coming into contact with them on Vans Warped Tour. The Living The Dream Foundation spent many summers out on Warped Tour, running their signature ‘Dream Days’, where they would introduce sick young adults to their favourite bands, backstage at the festival.
Speaking to Billboard about his appointment as co-chairman / CEO of the Living The Dream Foundation, Vic shared “They were always at the Vans Warped Tour and other big rock festivals making dreams come true for fans… We love it because it’s so real and tangible. We get to actually meet the people and their families, and talk to them and hear their stories.”
“I’ve never run a nonprofit before,” he also shared, “but I’ve learned a lot by working with Living the Dream over the years. When the foundation wanted to move forward together, I saw it as a crossroad in my life, and I chose making it a bigger part of my life. I didn’t see it coming, but my heart is fully in it.”
Vic has shared that his first goal as co-chairman / CEO is “reviving, relaunching and rebranding the whole thing.”
“Living the Dream already has deep roots and relationships with festivals and promoters, with lots of respect and a great reputation. What we lack is name recognition among fans; a lot of people don’t seem to know about us. So we have to try to be more in the public eye and get more support from people, and I know that I can promote the foundation and show that it’s an amazing cause.”
