WATCH: August Burns Red’s Anatomically Fascinating Video For ‘Bones’

The band’s new album ‘Guardians’ is out now.

August Burns Red have dropped a video for their song ‘Bones’.

Using x-rays and other advanced forms of visual technology, the band quickly change from skeletons to stars in the blink of an eye as they absolutely pummel their instruments. It’s an incredibly sporadic and satisfying watch.

Guitarist Brent Rambler had this to say about the clip:

“The video for ‘Bones’ is possibly the coolest music video we’ve ever done. It takes the song title quite literally, and creates an awesome and visually stunning video. It was a weird video for us to shoot, because for the vast majority of it we had to stand perfectly still, so all of the x-ray and other effects could line up properly.

That’s definitely a departure from a usual music video where you are supposed to bang your head as hard as possible all day long. We’ve been at this for a while so our old ‘Bones’ (wink) were happy for the change of pace.”

Have a watch for yourself right here:

The track is taken from the band’s brand new album ‘Guardians’ which is out now via Fearless Records.

We recently spoke to the band about what the record represents. Vocalist Jake Luhrs had this to say:

“When we were bringing together all the lyrical content we had and seeing what this record was about, what we realised was that it was about heart and love and recognising the fact that we need each other. We all have authority. We all have power. We all have strength. And we can share all of that to help and protect each other.”

“There’s not a song on this record that doesn’t hit home for me in a compassionate sense. What we’re trying to represent is that it doesn’t matter what you struggle with or who you are. What matters is that you have the choice and the opportunity to love the person beside you. We all need that.”

“We’re now in a position where we can share something real. We’re not like Blink-182 talking about how a girl broke our heart. This record is about being there, both spiritually and mentally and conveying a message that has power and passion behind it. That’s what’s important.”

This is just a taster of what the band had to say about the record as well! You can read the full interview inside Dance Gavin Dance’s issue of Rock Sound.
