Is it still a cover if they’re still technically Billie Joe Armstrong’s songs?
Billie Joe Armstrong’s side project The Longshot recently did a short run of live appearances, and at their show in Oakland they pulled out a few Green Day covers.
Are they actually covers if they’re still Billie Joe’s songs? We aren’t 100% certain on the intricacies here, but basically – Billie Joe performed some Green Day songs with The Longshot in tiny venues recently, and we wish we were there.
Fans were treated to a setlist featuring a handful of originals off their 2018 album ‘Love Is For Losers’, plus some cool covers at the intimate shows- including three Green Day covers, and covers of songs by The Rolling Stones and The Ramones.
The Green Day covers in question are all from their trilogy of albums ‘Uno’, ‘Dos’ and ‘Tré’ – check out the fan-shot videos below.
