We Came As Romans Are Teasing New Music

And it’s coming soon…

We Came As Romans have started teasing new music is coming soon – and it looks like it’s more than just one song as well.

Taking to Twitter overnight, We Came As Romans shared “would any of you like to hear some new music from us? like, do you want us to drop a brand new song? does anyone want us to do that?”

I mean, the answer is absolutely yes.

But then they added to it with a poll, asking “what if i told you that we recorded more than just one song…? do any of you think that you could handle that? or is that just too much new music for you?”

This would mark the first new music from the We Came As Romans camp since the release of their 2017 album ‘Cold Like War’, and their first release since the death of vocalist Kyle Pavone last year.

The fact that new music is on the horizon isn’t surprising – earlier this year, frontman Dave Stephens told Billboard that they planned on spending the summer writing music for a new album.

“We’ve been throwing a few demos around,” Dave shared. “I love that we’re going into the studio with so much to write about and something that hits home for all of us so hard. We’ve never had something so terrible happen, and I think it’s going to be therapeutic to write about it and be together and go through the whole process. I’m actually really looking forward to it.”

He continued “Every record we make some kind of progression, so there’ll be a progression on this one, but I don’t think we’re going to do anything too drastic. It’s still gonna sound like We Came As Romans.”

And while the tragic loss of Kyle will be one of the focuses of the upcoming album, Dave also revealed that it’ll likely include music written by Kyle, sharing “He was always writing, and I’m pretty sure he gave Lou (Cotton), our guitarist, a few different things he wrote… We’re gonna try and get into his laptop, too, ’cause I’m sure he had just files and files and files of stuff there, too. So that’s a goal. We would love to include him in this record as much as we can, aside from just writing about him.”

He also shared that the band still have no intention of replacing Kyle “There’s just no one who could replace him,” Dave said. “I feel like if we added another singer it would feel like replacing him, whereas if it’s just me then I’m just covering his parts. It wouldn’t tear at our fan base or our hearts as much as seeing someone else up there singing those words and these songs.”

The proposition of new We Came As Romans music is certainly exciting, and it sounds like it’s coming soon.
